Starting again and starting over is something I’ve gotten really good at over the last few years. When I was 18 I started a business straight out of high school and all I was left with was a broken friendship and $17,000 in debt. I should have thrown in the towel there and then. But I didn’t and I went on to start another business that actually did pretty well. Until that business that I’d built from the ground up started to slip away and it took my seven year relationship along with it.

That idea of starting again and starting from scratch used to scare me because the label ‘FAILURE’ was often affiliated with it. And I mean, who wants to be labelled a failure? But if I’ve learned one thing from losing everything, it’s that in life you never lose, you either win or you learn.

This year is all about trying new things that push me out of my comfort zone and into unknown territory because nobody gets to tell you who you are and what you’re capable of doing except you.

Do something today that your future self will thank you for whether that’s quitting your job to do something you love, telling someone you love them, booking a trip to the desert to go sand boarding, starting something you told yourself you were always going to or doing something you never thought you would. Because growth may feel like breaking at first but there is no change if there is no action. And the smallest step today in the right direction could be the biggest step of your life.

So stop waiting for tomorrow to try because it’s one day or day one in the end.

Will it be easy? Nope. But will it be worth it? Absolutely. See you wanting a sign, is a sign. So ask yourself, what would you want to try if you could never fail? Then go out and do it anyway.
